Finished

You are supposed to try or learn something new every day, according to my Great-grandmother. Well, I did both today....or so I hope. I tried dried cranberries today, because they are supposed to be good for you. Yeah.....the possible health benefits would have to be that they CURE EVERYTHING!!!!! Gawd, what an aweful taste. Maybe if you hide it in a pound of sugar, but that would be contrary to what good they might do for you. There's gotta be a better way to stay healthy.
For the second thing I'm gonna try to insert a photo of my socks which I finished this morning. Here we go.......
HA!!!!!! It worked!!!!! I'm such a geek.
I love it when those yarns pool and I am actually messing around with needlesizes and stitch numbers until it pools. In this case I just had to add two stitches and it did that! The yarn is from the Stroll Multi line from KnitPicks and is called Meadow Multi. So soft it should carry a warning label: " May induce uncontrollable hugging, touching, squeezing and sniffing."
The pattern is from the book "Knitting  more circles around socks". I absolutely love it. If I would knit socks one at a time, I would have a drawer full of single socks. Thanks to Antje Gillingham I do them two at a time.

Christmas was quiet and fun. I have to admit, I did not leave the house today. It was just too cozy. Now I shall direct my attention towards my glass of Boujeaulais (hope I spelled that right. The spellchecker went litterally "Whaaaat?") and ponder what I should assault my one reader with next time.

Another Christmas

Well, just spend 9 hours at my work, waiting for the FedEx lady. I was actually off today.....I let you ponder that for a while.
I had ordered a custom made item for my daughter. Arrival date was supposed to be the 6th of January. So I had them deliver it to my work, since I won't be at home that day. Needless to say, they were a little more efficient and fedEx would not let me change the address the item was being shipped to.
But it was productive, though. I got my pair of socks done. Deliciously soft KnitPicks Yarn. Stroll Multi in "Meadow".
I could knit all day........if that would pay the bills.
My resolution for 2010 is to make more money with my handmade items in my etsy shop. I like working on these things and I like the appreciation of the buyer. And I like to be able to buy more stuff for my kids. LOL.
I wonder sometimes who invented money.....I would do so much better if I could just trade what I do best (knitting) for something somebody else does best (like growing tomatoes). I'm telling you....the way this planet is going.....we might as well all develop a good skill that we can use for trading later on.
Today I found a "lucky" penny in the parking lot. Who determined when a penny is "lucky" anyway? I can see some old guy sitting  on his porch tossing a penny and going "Lucky.....Unlucky.....Lucky.........Unlucky.....""That's it, Earl!! I got it!!! Head is lucky!"
I should not blog when I had a glass of wine. I'm such a lightweight.
MERRY CHRISTMAS,EVERYONE!

Welcome, welcome!

Soooooo, my daughter helped me set up a blogspot. She got me started and now I can not stop playing and tinkering with it.
I thought some of my friends or friends-to-be might be interested in what I'm doing with my time besides work. So I added a new thing: blogging!
Today we went to our weekly knitting group. How a group of supposedly 60+ members can dwindle down to the same hardcore 6-8 members is somewhat a mystery to me. And I don't think it has anything to do with the holidays. This started way back in August, September. But it is still fun every time.
Right now I'm knitting the Clasica Coat from the Fall/Winter Interweave knitting magazine. I did not want to spend hundreds of dollars on the yarn that was listed in the pattern, so with the help of Sonia and Shirley at Yorkshire Yarns we picked the Eco Wool from Cascade as a substitute.
This yarn is awesome!!!! Undyed, 100% wool, knits up evenly and quick, shows the pattern beautifully and is so soft.
I am loving it.
Got the back and the left front done and started the right front today.
And how the hell did that Mosquito get into my livingroom? Isn't it too cold for Mosquitoes? Great...now I can spend the next 30 minutes trying to catch that little buggar. And it is late.
Well, 'til next time, my peeps. ( I always wanted to say that......not!)
